Newark’s Mayor Ras Baraka Arrested For Protesting at Newly Opened Immigration Detention Center

Nationwide — Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested this previous Friday throughout a protest outdoors the newly opened Delaney Corridor ICE detention heart operated by The Geo Group in Newark, New Jersey. Baraka, who’s operating for governor to succeed Phil Murphy, was taken into custody by federal authorities after reportedly making an attempt to enter the ability alongside three congressional representatives.
