Negro League Football Website Launches to Honor and Educate an Overlooked Chapter of American Sports History

Nationwide — In a groundbreaking initiative to coach, elevate, and empower, the official Negro League Soccer web site proudly proclaims its official rollout, aiming to make clear the forgotten legacy of Black soccer gamers and groups that thrived throughout a time of racial segregation within the sport. This motion seeks to honor the heroes of negro league soccer and guarantee their tales are informed and celebrated.

Whereas the legacy of Negro League Baseball has typically been highlighted, the equally compelling narrative of Negro League Soccer stays largely untold. From 1933 to 1946, Black athletes confronted systemic racism that barred them from mainstream skilled soccer, resulting in the formation of their very own groups and leagues, such because the Brown Bombers and the Chicago Comets, beneath the management of trailblazers like Duke Slater.
