Nationwide Geographic made its New York Vogue Week debut with an immersive vogue present, Nat Geo Presents: ‘Match for a Queen,’ celebrating the premiere of the docu-series QUEENS. Curated and styled by rising vogue star Sakinah Bashir, the present showcased daring patterns and sculptural silhouettes impressed by the animal kingdom, designed by JêBlanc, Sergio Hudson, Bohn Jsell, and others.

The present drew inspiration from late ’90s runway reveals, that includes deep colour tones, dramatic headpieces, and adornments. This immersive expertise went past vogue, highlighting Nat Geo’s dedication to reshaping the pure historical past style with influential females in entrance of and behind the digital camera. The present opened with Plant Kween as “Mom Nature,” setting the stage for a journey via the animal kingdom. Wildlife cinematographer Sophie Darlington, featured as a mannequin, wore a pink Sergio Hudson outfit, and Act I showcased a mannequin in a customized tan crushed velvet design impressed by a lioness, representing the “Crater Queens” episode.

Act II featured a hologram of a brown bear from “Coastal Queens,” alongside a mannequin in a customized design representing “water” by JèBlanc. Act III highlighted an elephant from “Savanna Queens,” with a hologram of the animal and a mannequin in a customized Theophilio design impressed by an elephant’s form and trunk. The present underscored Nat Geo’s dedication to showcasing highly effective feminine tales and redefining conventional narratives in each vogue and pure historical past.

Narrated by Angela Bassett, the groundbreaking collection QUEENS is reshaping the panorama of the pure historical past style. With a female-led filmmaking crew, the present captures highly effective matriarchs ruling within the pure world, showcasing six iconic worlds dominated by essentially the most spectacular feminine leaders within the animal kingdom. This collection marks a major shift in storytelling, highlighting the often-overlooked function of feminine animals in nature and celebrating their power and resilience.
