Media character Nandi Madida was on L-Tido’s podcast yesterday, treating us to a hilarious try to talk Sesotho at L-Tido’s urging.
Madida has been within the media for years, as a podcast host, MC, and tv host, and has been a central character in Beyoncé’s visible album Black is King.
On the L-Tido podcast, the host had Madida over for a frank and enjoyable dialog, part of which she tried to talk Sesotho with L-Tido.

Madida was visibly overwhelmed by L-Tido’s pace, however insisted she was okay to proceed.
“Eya, ntate,” she says as she chuckles nervously.
“Guys, I’m attempting to problem myself, I wanna be taught new languages,” Nandi says.
L-Tido requested her about her household life in KwaZulu-Natal.
To her credit score, Madida is aware of the phrases for mother and pop, however falls wanting itemizing the opposite family members.
“Yo yo yo yo. Ntate, mme. Ke nna, ndim, me. Bhuti…” she says.
L-Tido throws her a lifeline: “O ne o na le b abuti”, which interprets to “You had brothers”.
She resorts to what can solely be assumed to be signal language, ending up with a little bit of Afrikaans.
“Ek is deurmekaar. Nee, man!” quips Nandi.
