Michael Jackson Estate Tells Sexyy Red To ‘Beat It’ Over Sample

In a press release, representatives for the property stated they have been “deeply upset” by means of components from the traditional track.

The property of Michael Jackson has condemned rapper Sexyy Crimson for what it calls the unauthorized use of his traditional track “Beat It” in a newly launched observe.

“Michael Jackson’s music is protected by copyright and by a legacy that’s rigorously managed to honor his inventive imaginative and prescient,” the property stated in a press release to Billboard. “The unauthorized sampling and alteration of ‘Beat It’ undermines that legacy and violates the rights of the Property.” 

Moreover, the Michael Jackson property emphasised that it has “zero tolerance” for unlicensed makes use of of Jackson’s recordings. Representatives stated they’re “reviewing all out there authorized treatments.” 

The group “will take applicable motion to guard Michael’s mental property and protect the integrity of his work,” the assertion learn.

Earlier this week clips of a “Beat It” remix titled “Simply Eat It” circulated on social media after rapper Lil Yachty shared footage of Sexyy Crimson within the recording studio. The remix reworks the unique observe with express lyrics. Circulation of the video wherein Sexyy Crimson rapped and gestured towards her genitals sparked aggressive commentary from followers on-line.

@BigMarsh414094 stated, “Bruno Mars made a track with this individual btw And I by no means wish to hear one other track by Sexxy Crimson ever once more.” @BTCBabyBull referenced Crimson’s track “Pound City” when commenting: “Jackson Property Finna sue the Pink out her coochie and brown out that booty gap”

One other fan, @bippleyipsnipp, used phrases by Jackson in “They Don’t Actually Care About Us” to denounce Crimson’s model: “And if Michael Jackson was residing, he wouldn’t let this be nooo noo!”

It was unclear whether or not the property had formally filed a lawsuit or issued takedown notices. What is evident is that the property intends to maintain Jackson’s musical legacy clear.

“Each resolution we make is guided by preserving his artistry and guaranteeing that future generations expertise his work as meant.”
