Megan Thee Stallion didn’t usher within the new 12 months with a countdown or a champagne toast. She did it with crispy hen, a packed South Seashore sidewalk, and a set of keys that marked a serious shift in her work trip.

On New Yr’s Eve, the Grammy-winning rapper and entrepreneur formally opened her first Popeyes franchise in Miami’s South Seashore neighborhood, turning a once-viral collaboration right into a brick-and-mortar milestone. What started as a limited-edition sauce has now change into a tangible expression of possession.

Followers have been watching this evolution for years. Megan’s partnership with Popeyes took off in 2021 with the launch of her Hottie Sauce, which shortly grew to become a cultural occasion full with sold-out runs, memes, and a mukbang video she shared herself. However this opening represents one thing completely different. Megan isn’t simply lending her identify to a product anymore; she’s planting her flag as a franchise proprietor.

She teased the second months earlier. In a TikTok shared final April, Megan spoke brazenly about balancing her artistic and enterprise identities. “I put on many hats,” she mentioned. “After I’m within the sales space, I put on that hat. After I’m at Popeyes, I put on this hat.” Earlier this week, that second hat formally grew to become a part of her résumé.

Opening day wasn’t simply ceremonial, based on Miami New Instances. Megan arrived able to work, greeting her staff and making it a degree to study each worker’s identify as quickly because the doorways opened; even after a retailer supervisor informed her it wasn’t essential. Her response, captured in a video shared to her TikTok, was speedy and agency: “Oh, sure, I do.” She went on to greet employees one after the other, turning a easy introduction right into a second that mirrored her severe strategy to management.

The grand opening itself felt extra like a celebration than a company rollout. Megan hyped the employees, stepped behind the counter to serve prospects, and joked about popping in commonly to see how issues had been working. Followers gathered outdoors with telephones raised, whereas inside, the power balanced pleasure with day-one hustle. “That is going to be the very best expertise for me, and hopefully for y’all,” she informed her staff, including that she hoped the job can be enjoyable and memorable for everybody concerned.

On Instagram, she shared clips from the launch, proudly asserting her standing as a franchise proprietor, calling the situation “Thee Littest Popeyes” and welcoming Miami locals to cease by and assist her crew in South Seashore.
