Meet the Black Mom Turned Food Justice Advocate Championing for Healthier Communities

Nationwide — Tambra Raye Stevenson, a decided mom in Washington, DC, has emerged as a champion for combating for more healthy communities with the Meals Invoice of Rights. Impressed by the previous First Woman Michelle Obama, a mother who dedicated herself to bettering our kids’s diets with the Let’s Transfer Initiative, reignited Tambra’s ardour for meals justice and planted the seed in founding WANDA: Girls Advancing Diet Dietetics and Agriculture.

Hailing from Oklahoma, Tambra’s journey started with a childhood fascination with meals. She studied diet at Oklahoma State College, the place she established an endowed scholarship program to help girls in meals, agriculture, and diet. She expanded the WANDA scholarship program for girls in Northern Nigeria the place she traced her roots to the Fulani individuals. Stevenson’s work is rooted in a deep appreciation for meals, tradition, and neighborhood interconnectedness.
