Malcolm-Jamal Warner is utilizing his Not All Hood (NAH) podcast to launch an occasion collection to unfold love within the Black neighborhood past Black Historical past Month.

NAH began its “NAH, Extra Than A Month” Black historical past series final week with an inspiring episode that includes Dr. Pleasure DeGruy, writer of Publishtraumatic Slave Syndrome. The dialog targeted on the significance of fostering “Hope and Unity” in immediately’s sociopolitical panorama.

After the announcement of the prolonged collection on Tuesday, Warner and his NAH co-host, award-winning journalist and TV persona Candace Kelley, sat down with Stacey Abrams (pen title Selena Montgomery) to debate romance and the importance of novels that commemorate Black love. As a part of the Black Historical past collection, Warner and Kelley will interact with the neighborhood via dwell social media occasions, discussions, and in-person gatherings.

Warner started NAH in June 2024 to discover the varied experiences and identities of Black Individuals via dialog, compelling company, and discussions that present Black individuals are “Not All Hood.” Mixing popular culture, music, and breaking information, the podcast explores the evolution, pleasure, and triumphs of Black identification, celebrating its numerous expressions whereas providing mental depth and affirmation.

Warner is constructing upon themes of Black satisfaction he explored in his 2022 Grammy-nominated album, Hiding In Plain View. That includes Dr. Daniel Black (of Clark Atlanta College), the album explores common human experiences of vulnerability. By means of NAH, Warner is ready to share extra of his private story and perception into life as a Black American.
