Maiwenn Le Besco, the director of Johnny Depp’s Cannes opening night time movie “Jeanne du Barry,” has admitted that she spit within the face of an investigative journalist in February. The filmmaker confessed to the act simply days forward of the Might 16 world premiere of “Jeanne du Barry.”
The actor-director, who goes by Maiwenn, was requested on the French TV talkshow “Quotidien” if she might verify that she had assaulted Edwy Plenel, the founding father of Mediapart, which had printed a report that a number of ladies had accused her ex-husband, director Luc Besson, of rape. “Do I verify that I assaulted him? Plenel filed a police criticism on March 7, which accused Maiwenn of aggression whereas he was consuming in a restaurant. As for casting Depp, the filmmaker stated: “In a short time I stated, he misplaced the primary trial, he received the second. Let’s imagine it was one individual’s phrase towards one other. I didn’t really feel I had the proper to guage.”
