Leaders share condolences after passing of Dr. Hazel N. Dukes

NAACP State Convention President Dr. Hazel N. Dukes handed away Saturday on the age of 92. Because the announcement of her demise leaders from across the nation have been sharing their phrases of condolences and recollections in honor of the late civil rights icon.

New York State Govenor Kathy Hochul: “I used to be with Hazel Dukes at her bedside throughout her ultimate days. She known as me her daughter. Which means the world to me. Her contributions to creating our state and our nation extra simply, extra equitable and extra honest are impacts that can lengthy endure after her passing.”

New York State Legal professional Common Letitia James: “Hazel Dukes was a barrier breaker, a glass ceiling shatterer, and a pacesetter for tens of millions of New Yorkers and Individuals. Dr. Dukes could have been honored with awards, recognitions, road namings, and medals, however to me, she is going to all the time be the quiet however highly effective power for good, justice, and equality.
