Korean Medical Thriller ‘Hyper Knife’ Makes Sharp Impact on Disney+

Korean medical thriller “Hyper Knife” has emerged as Disney+‘s most-viewed Korean premiere globally in 2025, the streamer revealed Tuesday.

The collection, which debuted with two episodes on March 19, has reached this milestone lower than two weeks after its launch, with the rating primarily based on seven days of streaming knowledge. The Park Eunbin and Sul Kyunggu starrer has dominated viewership within the Asia-Pacific area and worldwide.

“Hyper Knife” facilities on Jeong Seok (Park), an excellent neurosurgeon whose distinctive surgical abilities are matched solely by her obsession with perfecting them. After uncovering a surprising revelation, Seok finds herself betrayed by her mentor and stripped of her medical license. Refusing to desert her calling, she begins performing underground surgical procedures for society’s outcasts till her former mentor comes searching for her experience.

The collection presents Seok with an ethical dilemma: use her abilities to finish a seemingly inconceivable operation or actual revenge on the person who destroyed her profession. The narrative pits Park towards Sul Kyunggu, who portrays her former mentor Choi Deokhe.

Park beforehand gained worldwide approval for her performances in “Extraordinary Legal professional Woo” and “The King’s Affection,” whereas Sul has established himself by means of initiatives together with “Memoir of a Assassin” and “Oasis.”

The artistic staff consists of author Kim Sunhee (“Quiz From God: Reboot”) and director Kim Junghyun, whose earlier work consists of “After the Rain” and “My Fellow Residents!”

“Hyper Knife” kicks off Disney+’s 2025 Korean content material slate, which can embrace a number of high-profile releases all year long. Upcoming titles embrace “9 Puzzles,” a darkish crime thriller starring Kim Dami and Son Sukku; treasure-hunting journey “Low Life” with Ryu Seungryong; and worldwide conspiracy thriller “Tempest” that includes an ensemble forged of Jun Gianna, Gang Dongwon, John Cho, and Michael Gaston.
