Klaus Zimmermann Talks ‘Drops of God’ Season 2

*The Emmy Award-winning wine drama “Drops of God” returns to Apple TV+ with a thriller that spans continents and centuries. Government Producer Klaus Zimmermann reveals that season two takes siblings Camille and Issei on an unprecedented quest to find the origin of the world’s best wine, a problem even their legendary father Alexandre Léger couldn’t resolve.

“We had been in search of one thing that’s fully totally different from season one,” Zimmermann explains. “We needed a distinct narrative, a distinct dynamic, and we got here up with this quest.” The eight-episode second season premiered on January 21, 2026, with new episodes releasing weekly by way of March 11.

The hunt creates rapid stress between the siblings, pushed by their father’s lingering affect. “This quest is definitely the shadow of the daddy,” Zimmermann says, noting that for Issei, “… that is extra like a revenge. He truly is aware of that he misplaced the problem of season one.” And for Camille, “it’s form of a nasty reminiscence as a result of she’s executed with the daddy,” he provides.

The thriller wine’s origin supplies one of many season’s largest surprises. “We ended up making the choice that it comes from a rustic that’s truly on the origin of wine 8,000 years in the past,” Zimmermann reveals. “The wine that isn’t recognized in any respect, as a result of it’s a wine that’s consumed within the small group the place it’s produced. Season two delves deeper into the Léger household mysteries established within the first season, which earned the collection an Worldwide Emmy Award for Finest Drama and an ideal 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating. Finally, Zimmermann hopes viewers perceive that “household is difficult, and household will be the issue, nevertheless it may also be the answer.”
