Kaizer Chiefs legends Itumeleng Khune and Willard Katsande obtained a hero’s welcome in Zimbabwe’s Gwanda throughout a group soccer challenge.
The duo attended the official opening of a brand new mini-stadium over the weekend, constructed by a neighborhood businessman close to Manama.
Khune and Katsande go to Zim
In accordance with HeraldOnline, Khune flew again to Johannesburg on Sunday morning. Katsande selected to remain behind and watch a soccer match in Bulawayo.
“We had been invited to be friends on the official launch of a mini stadium close to Manama in Gwanda,” Katsande informed The Chronicle.
“It was good to be on the market to advertise soccer in a manner, and we hope the following era of stars can picture out of that.”
Katsande revealed that he had stayed behind as a result of he wished to community with soccer individuals from Bulawayo. He informed The Chronicle that he runs a soccer faculty in Johannesburg with many youngsters whose mother and father had been from town.
He added that it was good to be there and that he had loved the match. The match was between Highlanders and Ngezi Platinum Stars.
The stadium launch close to Manama, Gwanda
Manama is a small rural centre tucked deep in Matabeleland South, about 90 kilometres south of Gwanda city. It’s roughly 170 kilometres from the Beitbridge border with South Africa.
Manama is much from the nation’s soccer limelight. However over the weekend, the quiet village made headlines when Khune and Katsande touched down as particular friends.
