Karen Huger Shares Prison Experience on RHOP

*One week after her launch, Karen Huger recounted her expertise behind bars throughout “The Actual Housewives of Potomac” Season 10 finale. She spoke with Andy Cohen concerning the challenges she confronted whereas serving six months in Maryland’s Montgomery County Detention Middle for a DUI conviction.

Cameras adopted Karen as she left the ability and reunited together with her husband, Ray Huger, daughter Rayvin Huger, and sister Bridget. “I’ve been by hell, Andy. I’ve been by hell and again,” she stated, per Bravo.

Karen opened up about her March 2024 arrest and her battle with dependancy. Though she anticipated going to jail, the size of her sentence stunned her. “I used to be shocked. I knew I used to be going to jail. I had made peace with that. However I assumed perhaps a month, not more than three. However this was only one extra step towards accepting my accountability for what I did.”

Whereas incarcerated, she selected to take part absolutely in jail life, volunteering to guide Narcotics Nameless and Alcoholics Nameless conferences and declining particular remedy, although she had her personal cell. “There’s no cushiness there,” she stated, recalling a metal bathroom and sink and lining her seat with maxi pads for the primary night time.

Her routine supplied construction, which she discovered useful for restoration. “I liked the self-discipline of it. I wanted that, to be trustworthy. It was a part of restoration. It was construction.” Meals have been much less satisfying, and he or she described surviving “on astronaut meals.”

Addressing the truth present’s function in her struggles, Karen insisted, “Under no circumstances. The present truly saved me. It occupied me. I believe I might have spiraled faster with out it. It gave me self-discipline. I had a routine. So, I can’t hate it. I don’t hate it. And I don’t have to blame it both.”

Taking accountability for her actions, she added, “I used to be answerable for me. I used to be sick. I’ve the illness of alcoholism. I’ve the illness of, you recognize, taking prescription medication and abusing it. That’s me.”
