Regardless of the anniversary of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s historic rap battle approaching, it’s prone to be overshadowed by Drake’s defamation lawsuit in opposition to Common Music Group. Everybody in hip-hop has agency opinions on the lawsuit, with most calling it a “Karen transfer” and “not hip-hop.”

In line with Complicated, nonetheless, Drake has the help of Jim Jones. Whereas selling his upcoming single on DMAL’s BNF podcast, Jones applauded Drake for suing whereas saying that the rapper is in “a unique realm” and hip-hop purists are “fascinated by this sh*t fallacious.”

“He’s not personally suing in opposition to Kendrick Lamar, which all people appears to assume that this lawsuit is about,” Jones stated 34 minutes into the interview. “He didn’t sue Kendrick Lamar. He sued UMG, which is the most important firm that has the most important bag, n***a. You assume I ain’t gon’ sue Amazon if I get an opportunity to? We suing all people, n***a. Any considered one of them firms I get an opportunity to, taking part in at that stage, to sue for billions? I’m going for it.”

In line with Jim Jones, Drizzy suing UMG and never Kendrick makes the state of affairs extra like Tracy Morgan suing Walmart over his 2014 automobile accident.

“So how the f**okay we not gon’ be comfortable about any individual who will get a bag from one of many greatest firms that’s been raping all people anyway?” Jones requested, including that he believes folks can be applauding the transfer if it as a substitute concerned a “coalition” of a number of artists.

Jones then blasted individuals who frowned upon the lawsuit, claiming they weren’t viewing the state of affairs appropriately.

“Y’all associating motherf**kin’ brussels sprouts with apples,” he stated. “It’s two completely various things.”

[…]

“It’s a harmful factor he’s doing. This some James Bond sh*t he’s doing.”

Finally, Jim Jones stated the lawsuit was “none of his enterprise.” The meat between Drake and Kendrick has been a nonstop matter since early 2024, and it received’t decelerate anytime quickly.

Nonetheless, if Drake by some means secures monetary compensation from the “Not Like Us” slander he endured, the dialog won’t ever finish. This might change hip-hop battles without end sooner or later.
