Jamaican National Arrested With Drugs Worth Millions Of Dollars

US Coast Guard discovered 68 bricks of cocaine and 14 bricks of marijuana on the vessel

A drug bust led to the arrest of a Jamaican nationwide, Rudalph Hylton, throughout an inspection by the U.S. Coast Guard within the Atlantic Ocean.

In response to Native 10, Hylton was apprehended and brought into custody on three federal drug trafficking expenses and booked into the Broward County Jail on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service. Authorities stated he was caught trafficking thousands and thousands of {dollars}’ value of cocaine and marijuana on the vessel he was on, touring from Jamaica to Florida.

The 33-year-old suspect was in a Fort Lauderdale federal court docket Feb. 23. Additionally on board with Hylton was one other Jamaican nationwide, Aldon Delano Brown.

A federal prison criticism acknowledged that the crew of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Richard Etheridge had performed a routine boarding of the Sea Ray vessel, which was named “Girl B,” within the Atlantic Ocean, positioned about eight nautical miles northeast of Haulover Inlet.

When officers boarded the 45-foot boat, inspecting the vessel for seaworthiness, members from the Coast Guard boarding staff found panels that have been manipulated, contemporary fiberglass work, and “a hidden compartment beneath the ground contained in the vessel’s cabin compartment that was properly hid with a small opening.” Underneath it, they discovered 68 bricks of cocaine, about 154 kilos (greater than 70 kilograms), and 14 bricks of marijuana, totaling about 12 kilograms, which is roughly 26 kilos.

The criticism stated that Hylton instructed investigators that “he and Brown had taken the vessel to Jamaica from Fort Lauderdale” a couple of month earlier than this journey and stated that whereas they have been on the island, “he was supplied $100,000 to take the vessel again to Fort Lauderdale, figuring out there (have been) unlawful narcotics that might be hidden on the vessel.”

Hylton continues to be in custody and is scheduled to seem earlier than a federal decide for a pre-trial detention listening to on March 2. Though Brown was on board, he was not listed in Broward or federal jail information.
