United Method of Jamaica (UWJ) obtained a $100 million donation from a fintech firm, JETS. The charitable group said that it’ll allocate 100% of the funds for Hurricane Mellissa reduction efforts.
Dr. Devon Smith, Chair of the UWJ board of administrators, praised JETS for its beneficiant reward, which he stated is the group’s largest donation ever. The group says it goals to prioritize serving to Jamaica’s most susceptible residents with the funds.
