Jackson Yee Spy Thriller ‘Scare Out,’ Heading to U.K., Ireland

Trinity CineAsia has acquired U.Ok. and Eire distribution rights to “Scare Out,” a up to date counter-espionage thriller from acclaimed Chinese language director Zhang Yimou, from Damai Leisure.

Written by Chen Liang, the movie follows a Nationwide Safety squad racing to establish and seize spies who’ve leaked categorized intelligence about China’s newest fighter jet know-how. The covert investigation expands past intelligence circles into civilian life because the hunt intensifies.

The movie will launch theatrically throughout each territories on Feb. 20, synchronized with the Lunar New Yr interval and its native China launch. Choose preview screenings are scheduled to start Feb. 17, providing a day-and-date rollout with the house market.

Produced by Damai Leisure, “Scare Out” represents Zhang’s first enterprise into trendy nationwide safety storytelling. The director beforehand helmed interval wuxia epics together with “Hero” and “Home of Flying Daggers.”

The thriller options Chinese language field workplace stars Jackson Yee (“Higher Days,” “Full River Purple”) and Zhu Yilong (“Solely the River Flows”) in lead roles, alongside Tune Jia (“Her Story”), Lei Jiayin (“A Author’s Odyssey”) and Yang Mi (“She’s Bought No Title”).
