Ja Rule visits Ghana to fulfill promise of constructing new school building

Ja Rule and his spouse arrived in Ghana on Tuesday to interrupt floor for the development of a classroom block for the St. John’s Anglican Fundamental College in Nuaso within the Jap Area of the nation.

The constructing of the classroom block is in partnership with Pencils of Promise, a U.S. non-profit group that seeks to create a greater world via training, constructing faculties, and WASH packages.

Ja Rule’s challenge will present a six-unit classroom block and different services for the St. John’s Anglican Fundamental College. On Wednesday’s groundbreaking ceremony, the rapper stated he was proud to be part of the college constructing challenge in Ghana.

“I’m proud to be out right here to have the audacity to return out right here to construct a college for my individuals,” Ja Rule stated. “I do know this can be a possibility that may final for a few years to return, that is only the start of one thing particular.”

“As I go searching, I see plenty of lovely college students right here from Nuaso Anglican Major. And for me, training is the pillar of any group. And so with that being stated, Ghana, I admire you all. I thanks for accepting me as your brother,” he stated.

Dignitaries on the ceremony included Ghana’s deputy Minister for Arts and Tourism who urged Ja Rule to advertise Ghana’s “Past the Return” marketing campaign as quickly as he returns to the U.S.

Upon their arrival in Ghana, the rapper and his spouse, Aisha Atkins, first visited the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Accra to pay homage to Ghana’s first president Kwame Nkrumah earlier than visiting some group leaders at Krobo Edumase within the Jap Area.

Ja Rule introduced his faculty challenge in January after comparable works by Michael Blackson and Lil Jon. In 2018, Lil Jon partnered with Pencils for Promise to construct a college within the Asuogyaman District of jap Ghana.

Blackson, a U.S.-based Ghanaian-Liberian comedian-actor, additionally launched the Michael Blackson Academy in Agona Nsaba, Ghana. 

His tuition-free ultramodern faculty, which opened in January 2023, fulfills the actor’s long-held need which he had whereas returning to Ghana after 15 years away.
