An area environmental activist has branded Cape City’s Macassar Seaside as one of many “dirtiest” within the nation.
This comes after one other mass clean-up on the seaside, positioned in False Bay and 30km from the town centre.
IS CAPE TOWN HOME TO SA’S DIRTIEST BEACH?
In a viral TikTok video, environmental activist Zoë Prinsloo revealed her horror at cleansing up “South Africa’s dirtiest seaside”.
Not for the primary time, the younger girl has coordinated a mass clean-up of Macassar Seaside, positioned in False Bay, positioned 30kms from Cape City.
Within the clip, Zoë and a small group of volunteers scoured the shore, accumulating over 124 kilograms of litter.
She captioned the clip: “Having cleaned over 120 seashores round SA, I’ve named this because the dirtiest seaside in South Africa.”

On Fb, she documented her expertise intimately, including: “The litter. The sheer scale of it. An infinite plastic street, with plastic scattered so far as the attention might see. I truthfully don’t even have the phrases”.
Within the feedback part, many Cape City residents agreed that Macassar Seaside was amongst the dirtiest within the province, if not, the entire nation!
The younger environmental activist is the founding father of the NGO Save A Fishie. She holds the world report for collaborating within the longest seaside clean-up, which lasted 27 hours. In 2023, she received the Cape City Medal for Conservation, and in 2024, she was named a Paul Harris Fellow for her humanitarian work.
What a day. Not even positive the place to start.🙃
We wakened at 3:30am, and by 4:20 Trevor the trailer was hitched to Suzi…
