Ahmad Jamal handed at his dwelling in Ashley Falls, MA on the age of 92. Born Frederick Russell Jones in Pittsburgh on July 2, 1930, Jamal started taking part in piano as a young person and moved to Chicago following highschool. By 25, he launched his debut album Ahmad Jamal Performs. Three years later, he would launch his magnum opus, the stay album However Not for Me, recorded on the Pershing nightclub in Chicago. He’s been honored with a Nationwide Endowment for the Arts Jazz Grasp award; a lifetime achievement honor from the Recording Academy; and a Residing Jazz Legend designation from the Kennedy Middle for Performing Arts.
