In honor of Valentine’s Day, I sat down with R&B songstress and powerhouse vocalist Summer time Dennis for an inspiring dialog centered on a love that’s simply as necessary as romance—the love shared between sisters, pals, and the unimaginable neighborhood of Black ladies lifting one another up each single day.
The dialogue was impressed by and named after Dennis’ hit 2024 music “Pink Lotus,” an anthem for ladies who know their price. Not your common love music, the monitor, that includes sultry vocals and a thumping beat, is about setting the bar excessive and demanding respect.
Joined by MadameNoire’s very personal Social Media Maven Tiffany Smith and Rolling Stone’s Delisa Shannon, the dialog explored the realities of navigating the world and relationship as a Black lady, balancing ambition with private achievement, and the deeper which means of self-love past romance.
