Think about being nominated for an NAACP Picture Award. Now think about being nominated in a class that features our perpetually First Girl Michelle Obama.

For Houstonian Jerome D. Love, he doesn’t need to think about. His podcast, “The Black Cash Tree,” was nominated within the class of Excellent Way of life/self-help podcast. Different nominees in that class embrace “The Laverne Cox Present,” “Chile, Please,” “Is This Going to Trigger an Argument,” and “The Gentle with Michelle Obama.”

“It feels wonderful to be nominated for this prestigious award,” stated Love. “Once I noticed that we’re in the identical class as Michelle Obama, it actually sank in how enormous that is. After I obtained the decision from my publicist, the primary particular person I known as was our podcast producer.”

Though the podcast house is over-saturated, Love nonetheless believed there was house for a dialog on monetary empowerment.

“Truthfully, I felt for a few years that everybody was doing podcasts, so I didn’t wish to do one, largely on account of ignorance and never absolutely understanding the influence and the way it labored. However the COVID-19 pandemic pushed me out of the nest and commenced to make me suppose outdoors of my conventional field,” shared Love.

The podcast has captivated audiences with its partaking and informative interviews that includes esteemed company who’re consultants in entrepreneurship and masters of constructing wealth via actual property. With the NAACP Picture Award nomination, Love’s “The Black Cash Tree” podcast is being acknowledged as a number one voice within the monetary schooling and empowerment house.

“Monetary empowerment has been a significant focus since I used to be a child. My dad at all times advised me, ‘The important thing to having cash is to spend lower than you make.’ So, he talked so much about working arduous and being profitable and never spending frivolously. In beginning expo is once I actually started to know and give attention to investing and rising your cash,” stated Love.

Love added that as time went on, he started to know that most of the ills our neighborhood faces are instantly correlated to wealth, which led him to know the influence of companies, investing, and actual property.

“As a child, I used to simply say that I wished to be wealthy. That could be a fairly obscure time period, and I feel I simply envisioned myself on non-public jets and vacationing in unique locations. Nevertheless, as soon as I acquired older and commenced to develop my wealth, I began to redefine that idea from a perspective of getting the capability to supply for and defend your self and people you’re keen on. The fabric issues are nice and essential to loosen up and recharge, however being ‘wealthy’ or rich is a lot extra than simply having materials issues. Many people see issues inside our neighborhood however don’t have the sources to do something about it. Being wealthy is having the capability to make a distinction.”

And together with his NAACP Picture Award-nominated podcast, Love is doing simply that.
