Hip-Hop Stars Okasian, Bryan Chase Signed by Universal Music Korea

Common Music Korea, a division of Common Music Group, has signed hip-hop artists Okasian and Bryan Chase.

The signing coincides with a rebranding of the corporate’s native Artist & Label (A&L) division.

Okasian, a veteran with greater than a decade within the trade, first gained prominence as a part of The Cohort hip-hop crew alongside Keith Ape and Bryan Chase. His status earned him a spot on XXL’s “Prime 10 Should-Know Rappers from Korea” checklist alongside BTS’s RM. His distinctive sound has led to collaborations with The Blacklabel (house to Blackpink’s Rose and Taeyang), together with releases by Interscope and 88rising.

“I’m actually delighted to embark on this new journey with Common Music Korea, collaborating to create nice music and genuine works collectively,” Okasian stated.

Chase brings his versatile fashion and melodic flows to UMG after making a reputation for himself along with his 2015 breakout “No Flex Zone (remix).” His collaborative resume contains work with The Blacklabel, Interscope, 88rising, Okay-pop star Taeyang on “Dusk,” and U.S. rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie on “2U.”

“Becoming a member of UMG is an unbelievable honor. We’ve constructed this from the bottom up with love and perception within the music. Now with this partnership, we’re able to share our sound with the world. It is a new starting and we’re anticipating nice issues forward,” Chase stated.

The pair just lately collaborated on “LOV3,” a observe from Sik-k and Lil Moshpit’s EP “Okay-FLIP+” launched in March.

“We’re thrilled to embark on this new chapter with two distinctive artists who’ve earned widespread recognition in Korea’s and Asia’s hip-hop scene,” stated Calvin Wong, CEO of Southeast Asia and Korea for Common Music Group. “Their experience and contemporary perspective promise to encourage and elevate the present music panorama, and we’re absolutely dedicated to supporting their creative journey.”

With these signings, Common Music Korea expands a roster that beforehand featured artists Dean and Heyoon. The corporate has additionally launched a devoted Artist & Label Instagram channel to maintain followers up to date on their rising slate of expertise.
