Harry Dunn Congress Video: ‘Trump MAGA Extremists’ Targeted

Harry Dunn for Congress

With violent imagery mirroring the Capitol chaos practically three years in the past and haunting music enjoying within the background, Dunn says within the marketing campaign video that he “swore an oath to guard our structure” and democracy.

“It’s what allowed me to guard some members of Congress who I knew have been bigots who helped fan the flames that began all of this,” Dunn, 40, says about Jan. 6.

Dunn, a Democrat, mentioned he “put nation above self” whereas these aforementioned Congress members he helped save from hurt’s means “voted to acquit” the twice-impeached Trump and “denied the violence and trauma that led to the deaths of a few of my former officers.”

Crediting the spirit of “good bother” championed by the late Congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis, Dunn mentioned his expertise on the Capitol that fateful day is the rationale he’s working for Congress.

“I sat down on a bench within the rotunda with a good friend of mine who can be a Black Capitol police officer and advised him in regards to the racial slurs I endured,” Dunn mentioned. “I grew to become very emotional and started yelling, ‘how the clean may one thing like this occur. Is that this America?’”

Dunn summed all of it up neatly: “It was simply so overwhelming and so disheartening and disappointing that we stay in a rustic with individuals like that.”

Later, California Rep. Adam B. Schiff, a Democrat, requested Dunn to expound on the racist components throughout his response to the Capitol rioters. “Is that this America?” Schiff requested Dunn.

“The truth that we had our race attacked and simply due to the best way we glance, you realize … To reply your query, frankly, I assume it’s America,” Dunn responded. “It shouldn’t be, however I assume that’s the best way that issues are.”

Evaluating Jan. 6 to a “struggle,” Dunn added to his reply.

“So I assume it sounds foolish, however I assume it’s American … nevertheless it’s not the aspect of America that I like. It’s not the aspect that any of us right here signify,” Dunn advised Schiff. “We signify the nice aspect of America, the individuals who really imagine in decency.”

2024 Election in Maryland

Dunn is working for Maryland’s third congressional district, which has been represented by U.S. Rep. John Sarbanes for the final eight phrases. However Sarbanes, a Democrat, is just not in search of reelection, leaving a gap for Dunn to hitch the sphere of a minimum of 9 different candidates in search of the congressional seat.

That features a minimum of seven candidates vying for the Democratic nomination.
