Harlem’s rich legacy now a tap away with ‘Signs of the Times’ app

The Harlem-based historic preservation group, Whereas We Are Nonetheless Right here (WWSH), has launched a brand new cellular app designed to assist customers discover New York Metropolis’s most historic, Black history-rich neighborhood.

WWSH’s free app known as “Indicators of the Instances.” The GPS-enabled app, developed in partnership with the software program improvement firm HubSpire, was inaugurated final weekend throughout a press convention held on the Sugar Hill Youngsters’s Museum.

“We’re thrilled to introduce this app, which brings our historic markers to life and gives a deeper understanding of pivotal eras in Harlem’s historical past,” stated WWSH founder Karen D. Taylor. “It’s like having Harlem in your pocket.”

“Indicators of the Instances” guides customers to 24 historic markers all through Harlem. The app was created to spotlight Harlem’s historical past as a cultural hub for African diaspora tradition.
