Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was despatched to jail for the homicide of her mom, Clauddinnea “Dee Dee” Blanchard, who allegedly abused her daughter and saved her sick for years, was launched from the Chillicothe Correctional Heart at 3:30 a.m. native time, in accordance with the Missouri Division of Corrections.
Gypsy and her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, had been arrested in 2015 for the homicide of “Dee Dee” Blanchard, who was discovered stabbed to demise in her residence.
Gypsy Blanchard pleaded responsible to second-degree homicide and was sentenced to 10 years.
Godejohn was convicted of first-degree homicide and sentenced to life in jail.
“Dee Dee” Blanchard allegedly abused her daughter for years by convincing Gypsy and the general public that she was extraordinarily sick, when she wasn’t.
Gypsy grew up believing she suffered from situations together with:
leukemia
muscular dystrophy
imaginative and prescient
listening to impairments
seizures.
She used a wheelchair, a feeding tube and underwent a number of surgical procedures that had been later deemed to be pointless.
Gypsy Blanchard mentioned her mom saved her weak, remoted and depending on her, and mentioned her mom turned extra controlling as she bought older.
“She bodily chained me to the mattress and put bells on the doorways and instructed … anyone that I most likely would’ve trusted that I used to be going by way of a section and to inform her if I used to be doing something behind her again,” Gypsy Blanchard instructed ABC Information’ “20/20” in 2017.
Gypsy Blanchard instructed “20/20” she needed her mom lifeless “as a result of I needed to flee her.”
Nicholas Godejohn, who stabbed “Dee Dee” Blanchard in her bed room, instructed police he simply needed to guard his girlfriend.
In 2017, Gypsy Blanchard instructed “20/20” she felt freer in jail than she did dwelling along with her mother.
