Gun Violence Awareness Month kicks off in NYC

June is Gun Violence Consciousness Month and with a number of taking pictures already occurring within the first few days of the month, elected officers and neighborhood organizations have already laid out their motion plans.

Manhattan District Legal professional Alvin Bragg, Jr., introduced a collection of community-based occasions and initiatives for Gun Violence Consciousness Month. Yearly in June, the Manhattan D.A.’s Workplace seeks to boost consciousness about gun violence, help gun violence survivors, fund prevention efforts and providers, and facilitate neighborhood dialogue.

These initiatives are a part of the Workplace’s complete efforts to fight gun violence, which has helped result in a big discount in shootings and homicides underneath D.A. Bragg’s administration. The Anti-Violence Subommitee of the BPHA Legislative Caucus hosted a roundtable with neighborhood organizations and advocates in recognition of Gun Violence Consciousness Month.

As session comes to shut, the Caucus has advocated for 3 key priorities to help neighborhood violence intervention and sufferer help.
