On February 24, Governor Kathy Hochul introduced plans for an I LOVE NY Black journey initiative that has been set in place with the hopes of rising New York State tourism whereas motivating Black vacationers to go to the world.
The Governor introduced the initiative on the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, which was part of the state’s commemoration of this yr’s Black Historical past Month. This new program will encourage progress of the state’s tourism packages like I LOVE NY LGBTQ, and Accessible NY, by highlighting locations of curiosity to and supportive of particular touring communities.
“The brand new I LOVE NY Black journey initiative might be a celebration of New York’s unparalleled Black historical past, tradition, meals, and humanities,” Hochul mentioned. “From websites and museums that carry Black historical past to life to world-class arts and cultural establishments just like the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York has a lot to supply.
