Georgia woman’s baby delivered after brain death diagnosis

ATLANTA (AP) — The newborn of a lady in Georgia who was declared mind useless and has been on life assist since February was delivered early June 13, her mom stated.

April Newkirk instructed WXIA-TV that 31-year-old Adriana Smith’s child was born prematurely by an emergency cesarean part early June 13, the Atlanta station has reported. She was about six months into her being pregnant. The newborn, named Likelihood, weighs about 1 pound and 13 ounces and is within the neonatal intensive care unit.

“He’s anticipated to be okay,” Newkirk instructed the TV station. “He’s simply combating. We simply need prayers for him.”
