Frederick Haynes III now heads Rainbow PUSH Coalition

The historic civil rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, a Chicago-based nonprofit group shaped as a merger of two nonprofit organizations based by Reverend Jesse Jackson – Operation PUSH (Individuals United to Save Humanity) and the Nationwide Rainbow Coalition – now has a brand new president and CEO.

Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III, senior pastor of the Dallas mega-church Friendship-West Baptist Church which boasts greater than 13,000 members, was formally put in because the president and CEO of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition on Feb. 1.

The Set up

The set up passed off on the Black Academy of Arts and Letters (1323 Canton St, Dallas, TX 75202) amid a sold-out gathering six months after the announcement of Haynes as Jackson’s successor was made through the Rainbow PUSH Coalition’s nationwide conference.

The Social Justice Convention

Haynes’ reference to Paul Quinn Faculty, the positioning of the convention, runs deep. Haynes is on the board of the Convention of Nationwide Black Church buildings, the Nationwide Motion Community, and the IC3 Church Development and Growth Convention.
