Founders of Pretty Brown Girl Launch Historic Collegiate Chapter at Florida A&M University

Nationwide — Fairly Brown Woman, a nationwide motion dedicated to uplifting and empowering women and girls of shade, proudly celebrates the historic chartering of an official collegiate chapter at Florida A&M College (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. The celebration was held this spring, with over 40 younger girls in attendance, marking a historic milestone within the group’s journey.

This highly effective second was made much more particular by the management of Laila and Aliya Crawley, daughters of Fairly Brown Woman co-founders Sheri and Corey Crawley. As second-generation Rattlers, Laila and Aliya now function President and Vice President of the newly fashioned Fairly Brown Woman FAMU Chapter.

“My husband Corey and I met at FAMU, 39 years in the past, and the Fairly Brown Woman Motion was born from our shared ardour for goal and legacy,” stated Sheri. “To now witness our daughters establishing a collegiate chapter on the very campus the place our story started—it’s past full circle. It’s divine alignment.”

Based in 2010, Fairly Brown Woman has impacted over 100,000 ladies throughout the globe via confidence-building applications, college partnerships, group initiatives, and nationwide recognition from retailers together with NBC Information, Essence Journal, and The New York Instances. The launch of the PBG FAMU Chapter represents a brand new period of management and enlargement into greater schooling establishments.

This Fairly Brown Woman chapter joins the organizations Chapter at Howard College began and led for the previous three years by Madison Belo, a earlier PBG scholarship recipient. The collegiate chapters purpose to foster self-love, sisterhood, and social affect amongst college-aged girls, with programming centered on private improvement, group service, and educational success.Fairly Brown Woman extends deep gratitude to its Board of Administrators, college supporters, and each pupil who helped convey this imaginative and prescient to life.

The PBG motion at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical College will formally kick off this Fall via initiatives led by Laila and Aliya, aligned with Fairly Brown Woman’s core mission: To empower each lady to have fun her magnificence, voice, and brilliance.
