Former Maryland state elections board member arrested on Jan. 6 insurrection crimes

Carlos Ayala, newly resigned member of the Maryland State Board of Elections, was arrested on felony and misdemeanor fees associated to his conduct through the Jan. 6, 2021 revolt and breach of the U.S. Capitol.  The FBI arrested Ayala, 52, on Jan. 9 on civil dysfunction, a felony in response to the U.S. Legal professional’s Workplace for the District of Columbia. 

Ayala is a Republican from Salisbury, Md. He was appointed to the Maryland State Board of Elections in 2023 by Gov. Wes Moore (D), really helpful by the Maryland GOP.
