Farewell, Kwame—you did us some service and we know it

A large turnout of activists, artists, and Pan-Africanists assembled on the Abyssinian Baptist Church final Monday morning, April 24, to pay their respects to Kwame Brathwaite, who joined the ancestors on April 1. He was 85. Most notable among the many attendees was a big contingent of photographers, and that was maybe in line with a person whose digicam was as ubiquitous because it was calibrated to doc the artwork and politics of the Black world.
