The household of the late Rev. Jesse Jackson will attend the State of the Union handle Tuesday night as visitors of Home Democratic Chief Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
In an announcement, Jeffries linked the invitation to a broader protection of civil liberties. “Whereas far-right extremists wage an all-out assault on civil rights, voting rights, and democracy itself, Home Democrats are dedicated to carrying on Rev. Jackson’s work,” Jeffries mentioned. “In his title, we’ll proceed to face up for the American folks till we are able to finish this nationwide nightmare in the end.”

Jeffries additionally prolonged invites to Vonetta Rougier, a bus operator from Canarsie, Brooklyn, and Marina Lacerda, a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein. The State of the Union is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET.
