On Aug. 28, in solemn commemoration of the historic 1963 March on Washington, a united coalition of church buildings and the Black Press led by Dr. Boise Kimber, Bishop J. Drew Sheard, Dr. Samuel C. Tolbert, Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis Jr, president and CEO of the Nationwide Newspaper Publishers Affiliation (NNPA): The Black Press of America, will be part of Civil Rights icon Rev. Al Sharpton, founding father of the Nationwide Motion Community, to steer a protest march on Wall Road in New York Metropolis, the epicenter of financial energy and privilege. The march will function distinguished spiritual and Civil Rights leaders and activists, who will converse and way more.
As our communities face a mounting financial disaster disproportionately devastating African People and the marginalized, we declare that now’s the time for the religion neighborhood to rise and converse with ethical readability. Simply as Dr. King earlier than us, in the present day’s spiritual leaders should carry the mandate and mantle to struggle for social and financial justice for all individuals.
