Douglas County Man Faces Charges for Stealing Electricity

A Douglas County man finds himself in authorized bother after allegedly stealing electrical energy companies from Georgia Energy.

WSBTV studies {that a} Douglas County man finds himself in authorized bother after allegedly stealing electrical energy companies from Georgia Energy, in accordance with authorities. The investigation, which commenced in March 2020, culminated within the arrest of Terrence Grant, 22, on Feb. 22, 2021. Deputies assert that Grant intentionally evaded cost by illicitly procuring energy companies from Georgia Energy. Consequently, he was apprehended and booked into the Douglas County Jail, dealing with prices of theft of companies and damaging a public utility.

Whereas the sheriff’s workplace didn’t disclose specifics relating to the extent of the alleged theft or harm, the case stays pending prosecution, limiting the discharge of additional particulars.

This incident echoes related prices filed in opposition to a person in Oklahoma Metropolis accused of stealing electrical energy from his neighbors in August 2023, in accordance with News9. Ryan Costiloe, 36, faces misdemeanor prices for allegedly connecting his unit to his neighbors’ electrical retailers, meddling with public utilities within the course of.

Considered one of Costiloe’s neighbors, 75-year-old Alice Woods, recounted discovering a wire stretched throughout her entrance porch, surreptitiously linked to {the electrical} utility. “I caught them at the very least thrice with the actual heavy extension twine kind factor made out of wire,” Woods lamented, highlighting the monetary pressure the theft imposed on her already modest funds.
