DIFF award-winning Sophiatown-set film ‘1960’ on Showmax

When the stays of an apartheid-era policeman are found 60 years after he went lacking, Lindi, a retired jazz singer, revisits her previous to assist with the investigation. However how a lot does she know, and what’s she holding again?

DURBAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL WINNER ‘1960’

MEET THE CREW AND CAST

Zandile Madliwa (Gwyneth in The Kissing Sales space motion pictures) stars because the younger Lindi, whereas Ivy Nkutha (Generations, Religion’s Nook) performs the older Lindi, who tells her story to Detective Kuda Maseko (Sisa Hewana from Isidingo) within the modern-day timeline.

1960 was a ardour undertaking for SAFTA-winning and Annie Award-nominated composer Bruce Retief (Freedom Street, Khumba, Zambezia), who drew on the spirit of the greats of Sophiatown for the rating, and wrote and produced the movie alongside Khaya Maseko. Co-producer and cinematographer Michael Mutombo directed the present-day scenes, whereas King Shaft (Uzalo, Skeem Saam, Isibaya) directed the 60s timeline.
