*A coalition of civil rights activists is asking for the quick arrest and prosecution of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies who’re captured on cellphone video detaining an aged Black man and lady (a husband and spouse) suspected of shoplifting from Winco a Lancaster (CA) grocery retailer after which brutally assaulting them.
A viral video exhibits that after two officers struggled to handcuff the husband, considered one of them walked on to the spouse. When the digicam adopted the officer, he’s proven grabbing the spouse by the again of her neck earlier than violently flinging her to the bottom and pepper spraying her.

Gascon pledged to carry abusive regulation enforcement officers accountable when he was elected. This abuse by regulation enforcement officers of two aged individuals one being a girl who was body-slammed after which pepper sprayed by the deputy is inexcusable.
“Gascon should ship a robust message his workplace will prosecute officers who use extreme power at any time when it occurs.
“Our coalition can be calling for a gathering with Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna. We wish the names of the deputies launched and query why the deputy’s physique cam footage wasn’t launched till after the general public had seen the cellphone video which went viral of deputies abusing the aged pair, ” said Ali.
