Dapper Dan honored by The Brotherhood Sister Sol at annual gala

Harlem-based youth growth and social justice group The Brotherhood Sister Sol (BroSis) honored legendary designer Dapper Dan at its signature Voices gala Thursday evening, the place the group raised $1.5 million.

Returning for its 18th yr, Voices served because the group’s annual profit celebrating its youth members and enriching programming. Happening at New York Metropolis’s Ziegfeld Ballroom, this yr’s occasion acknowledged Dapper Dan’s work inside trend, music, and tradition, which aligns with the fiftieth anniversary of Hip Hop.

Dapper Dan pioneered streetwear within the early Nineteen Eighties, co-opting luxurious branding to design unique clothes with high-end element.
