Charlotte nonprofit awarded $2M for affordable housing

The Metropolis of Charlotte awarded an area nonprofit funding to deal with folks with felony backgrounds throughout at Monday evening’s council enterprise assembly.

Freedom Preventing Missionaries, a Charlotte-based group that helps individuals who have been formally incarcerated, will obtain $2 million to help the development of two inexpensive housing tasks. 

The funds come from the American Rescue Plan Act and can help the development of 37 inexpensive townhouse models at two places.

The primary property, known as Missionary Grove, will probably be positioned at 5735 W.T. Harris Boulevard and will probably be made up of 16 rental models.

The second property, Sardony Lane Townhomes, can have 21 models for hire at 2135 W.T. Harris Blvd. 

The properties will probably be made up of two- and three-bedroom townhomes.
