Charles Barkley Has an Answer for the Affirmative Action Decision—$5 Million to Black Students

“In my will, I’m leaving Auburn $5 million,” Barkley mentioned. “I’m going to alter it to be only for scholarships for Black college students. That’s simply my method of attempting to verify Auburn stays numerous.”

Per the college’s knowledge, Black scholar enrollment was 5.3 p.c in 2020 however dropped to 4.91% within the fall of 2022.

Initially, Barkley deliberate to depart an endowment to his alma mater for any economically deprived scholar, however will particularly change it to be earmarked for Black college students to foster range inside Auburn’s scholar physique.
