Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso unveils a public interactive sculpture honoring the life and legacy of Brooklyn’s hip-hop legend Christopher Wallace, often known as “The Infamous B.I.G.” or “Biggie Smalls.”

Artist Sherwin Banfield describes the general public artwork set up as “a sustainable Sonic Sculptural tribute devoted to the legacy of Christopher ‘The Infamous B.I.G.’ Wallace.” The artwork piece stands at 9 ft tall, runs on solar energy, and is fabricated from bronze, resin, chrome steel, winterstone, wooden, audio, and lighting. Sky’s the Restrict within the County of Kings is made doable by a grant from the Downtown Brooklyn + Dumbo Artwork Fund, a partnership with Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and Dumbo Enchancment District as a part of New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
The sculpture was first unveiled in November 2022 on the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge as a part of the NYC Parks’ Artwork within the Parks program.
