Black Officer Praised for His Quick Reaction In Taking Down Texas Mall Mass Shooter As Grand Jury Elects Not to Indict Him

An Allen, Texas, police officer is being praised for his heroic efforts to take down a Texas Mall mass shooter who shot 15 individuals, killing eight of them, in Could.

Police bodycam footage was launched on Wednesday, June 28 that confirmed the encounter between a Black officer and 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia.

The officer’s title was not launched, however the video from Could 6 reveals the officer chatting with a mom and her two youngsters earlier than a number of gunshots sounded off within the distance. The officer radioed in that he heard gunshots on the Allen Premium Retailers, north of Dallas, Texas.

The Allen Police Division stated in a press release that it “appreciates the arduous work of the grand jury, Texas Rangers and the District Lawyer’s Workplace by making certain a course of that helps promote accountability, neighborhood involvement and transparency.”
