Black Mom Rightfully Upset After 4-Year-Old Daughter Placed in Wrong Car During School Pickup

Nationwide — Daija Spencer, an African American mom, says her 4-year-old daughter, Brielle Davis, was by chance positioned within the unsuitable automotive throughout pickup at an elementary faculty in Houston, Texas. Although Brielle was shortly returned, the incident left the household shaken and demanding solutions.

Spencer mentioned her daughter ran to her crying and advised her, “Mommy, I used to be put within the unsuitable automotive. I didn’t see you. I didn’t see Daddy. Why didn’t you come save me?” Brielle didn’t acknowledge the driving force, which instantly alarmed her mom.

In accordance with Folks, the incident occurred on Thursday, January 29, at Bastian Elementary Faculty. Spencer claims a employees member put Brielle right into a stranger’s car, nobody contacted her, and no welfare test was carried out. She says she nonetheless hasn’t acquired an incident report or particulars in regards to the driver.

The Houston Impartial Faculty District confirmed a employees member mistakenly put Brielle in a automotive with different college students. The district claims the mother or father realized the error, returned to the college, and Brielle was safely delivered to the entrance workplace. Spencer disputes that her daughter was ever taken there and says the shortage of communication was deeply regarding.

After the incident, the college revised dismissal procedures. The employees member concerned was faraway from automotive rider obligation, and Brielle will now be dismissed immediately from the entrance workplace. Spencer took her daughter for a medical analysis, filed a police report, and Brielle has since been unenrolled from the college.

“As a mom, I need to know who my little one was with. What if I didn’t get her again?” Spencer mentioned. The district says it stays dedicated to scholar security throughout all faculty actions.
