Black Dad of 3 Killed by US Marshals Who Allegedly Tried to Cover Up What Really Happened

Nationwide — Julian Bailey, an African American man from Washington, DC, was shot and killed by U.S. Marshals throughout a visitors cease, leaving his household devastated and demanding solutions. His family members say official accounts of the capturing don’t match what they consider occurred.

Officers have been known as on Feb. 11 to a report about somebody threatening others with a gun. The Metropolitan Police Division stated U.S. Marshals later discovered Bailey and shot him on the scene. He died there, in response to DC Information Now.

Bailey’s household says the small print across the capturing are complicated and probably deceptive. Their legal professional, Andrew Clarke, stated key details haven’t been shared. “What we don’t know is how this occurred. Right here we’ve altering tales, lacking info. This isn’t what we predict from policing in our group,” Clarke stated.

Bailey’s spouse, Trenise Wells-Bailey spoke about her husband as a gift, loving dad. She stated he would FaceTime their kids every morning earlier than faculty. “Each morning earlier than I received them to highschool, he would FaceTime us,” she stated. “I’m by no means going to neglect him, and I’m by no means not going to like him. I fear for my ladies, I fear for Sean and Jailen as a result of I do know what it feels wish to lose a guardian.”

Mates, household, and supporters gathered in Northeast D.C. to recollect Bailey, lighting candles, singing, and releasing balloons in his honor. His son, Jailen Cornish, described his dad as humorous, loving, and unforgettable. Wells‑Bailey stated Julian was “robust on respect and love.”

The investigation continues to be ongoing. The Metropolitan Police Division stated it’s dealing with the case however referred inquiries to the U.S. Marshals Service, which has not offered additional feedback. The household continues to name for transparency and a full rationalization of what occurred.
