Black congressional members blast DeSantis for Florida’s ‘racist’ school curriculum

Members of Congress are slamming Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after he doubled down on the state’s controversial college curriculum on slavery. 

Whereas in Iowa on the marketing campaign path, DeSantis instructed a reporter on Thursday that the Florida Division of Schooling’s new course customary to show college students that enslaved individuals benefited throughout slavery was misinterpreted and that the “explicit provision in regards to the abilities…was despite slavery not due to it.”

Earlier within the day, Congressional Black Caucus Chairman, Rep. Steven Horsford, D-Nev., and different members of the CBC, like Reps. Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, and Bobby Scott, D-Va., held a press convention on the state of race and democracy within the U.S. and condemned DeSantis for Florida’s new college curriculum.
