Bill Duke Receives Ja’Net DuBois Award at PAFF

*The Pan African Movie & Arts Competition (PAFF) continued with an important day on Thursday, February 15, on the Administrators Guild of America in Los Angeles. The spotlight of the night was the presentation of The Ja’Internet DuBois Lifetime Achievement Award to actor and director Invoice Duke, alongside the purple carpet world premiere of the Ethiopian battle movie “For the Love of the Motherland.”

4-time NBA Champion John Salley expressed deep admiration for Invoice Duke’s outstanding profession and his dedication to showcasing various narratives as each an actor and filmmaker. The occasion attracted many Hollywood notables, together with Haitian actor Jimmy Jean-Louis, and casting director Robi Reed.

In response to what he loved most about PAFF, Jimmy Jean-Louis shared, “Pan African Movie Competition is a kind of movie festivals the place, as a black individual, you actually have selections. It’s a great way to teach your self, it’s a great way to see individuals who appear like you, [and] tales that talk to you.”

The Ja’Internet DuBois Lifetime Achievement Award, beforehand often known as the Pan African Movie Competition Lifetime Achievement Award, honors people who’ve made distinctive contributions to the humanities, tradition, and society. Named after the late “Good Occasions” actress and PAFF co-founder, this award celebrates a lifetime of creativity, innovation, and dedication to at least one’s craft.

Invoice Duke was honored on the Pan African Movie Competition 2024

Invoice Duke’s profitable profession spans over 40 years, with memorable roles in iconic movies corresponding to “Predator,” “American Gigolo,” and “Menace II Society.” As a director, he has labored on quite a few tv exhibits and have movies, together with the Cannes Movie Competition official choice “A Rage in Harlem” and the acclaimed documentary “Darkish Women.”
