Alvin F. Poussaint, psychiatrist and civil rights advocate, dies at 90

Alvin F. Poussaint, a psychiatrist who offered medical care to civil rights activists in Nineteen Sixties Mississippi and later grew to become a nationwide authority on the consequences of racism on Black psychological well being, died Monday at his house in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. He was 90. 

His spouse, Dr. Tina Younger Poussaint, confirmed his dying.
