‘Ugly terrain’ – Ice-T explains why he protested ICE by altering lyric to his controversial song

Throughout an look on The Breakfast Membership on Wednesday, veteran rapper Ice-T defined why he modified the lyric of his 1992 controversial tune from Cop Killer to ICE Killer. 

Per Leisure Weekly, Ice-T, whose actual identify is Tracy Lauren Marrow, disclosed that his determination to change the lyric wasn’t one thing that he had considered prematurely earlier than he took the stage to carry out.

For weeks, tensions have flared between anti-ICE protesters in Minneapolis and ICE brokers after President Donald Trump deployed the federal brokers to the town. The protests have unfold to many different states, notably after ICE brokers fatally shot Minneapolis residents Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti.

Ice-T mentioned that he felt america was threading on a harmful path due to the present happenings. 

“I believe we’re headed to some actually ugly terrain,” the rapper mentioned, per Leisure Weekly. “And Black folks actually ain’t bought nothing to do with it. It’s unhealthy. I believe the second anyone shoots an ICE agent, it’s gonna get unhealthy.”

Ice-T was additionally requested about artists addressing present points and if he felt that was necessary for them to all the time do it.

“No, I believe the one folks that ought to communicate on [issues] are those that basically carry it with them day by day,” Ice-T responded. “If that’s who you’re. If it’s not, don’t do it for publicity. Don’t do it for hype. Don’t let your publicist inform you, ‘Communicate on this subject.’ As a result of if you happen to’re not educated sufficient to talk on it, you’re going to finish up caught on the market.”
